Cynthia Trone + Symmetree Base Camp

Located on Bay View St in Camden, Maine, Symmetree Base Camp offers a unique blend of sustainable apparel and mindfulness, created by local resident Cynthia Trone. Since opening in 2021, the shop has become a hub for those looking to enrich their lives and wardrobes with environmentally conscious choices.

Every item sold at Symmetree Base Camp helps the planet—thanks to partnerships with Eden Reforestation and 1% for the Planet, eight trees are planted for every item sold. To date, customers like you have helped plant over 200,000 trees. The shop features wearable art by Cynthia’s son, Jackson Berger, and his girlfriend, Skye Rainey, who are the magic behind Symmetree Clothing. Each shirt is carefully printed, and each hat is thoughtfully embroidered by hand, showcasing their commitment to quality and sustainability.

Cynthia’s deep roots in the community, dating back to 1983, have influenced her desire to create a welcoming space for all. Symmetree often stays open until 9 pm, offering locals and visitors alike a place to find unique apparel and to engage in meaningful conversations and gatherings. Her Meditation Studio offers opportunities to practice, as well as classes and special events.

Cynthia enjoys the unique rhythms of life in Midcoast Maine—from the quiet winters to the lively summers. "I love seeing how the changing seasons bring new people and new energy into the shop," she says.

Stop by Symmetree Base Camp to discover how their products reflect care for the environment and foster a sense of community in every season.
