Jess Shepherd + The Uproot Pie Co
Step into the world of Uproot Pie Co., where Jess Shepard, alongside her beloved team, brings the community together over the art of sourdough pizza and bialys. Crafted before your eyes, each pizza is a testament to their commitment to quality, local produce, and the magic of wood-fired cooking, giving Uproot its distinctive charm.
Nestled in Thomaston, the Carriage House, an 1850-built gem, is Uproot’s heart for events and workshops. Though taking a brief pause in April, May reawakens with the opportunity to book your gatherings in this picturesque setting. Ideal for rehearsal dinners, baby showers, birthdays, and retirement parties, the Carriage House offers a unique blend of historical ambiance and modern culinary excellence.
As a beloved fixture in the Rockland and Camden farmers’ markets, Uproot invites you to start your market day with their savory bialys and a fresh cup of coffee, soaking in the local vibe. With their presence at Rockland on Thursdays from 9a to 1p and Camden on Saturdays from 9a to 12p, Uproot is a pivotal part of the community fabric.
FAMOUS FOR:
Their amazing team (included in the group picture are Ginny Spivey, Ama LaBelle, Emily Smith, and Julia Hayward), and the amazing spaces they create. They serve exceptional food, and we highly recommend you try their Bialys. (They sell 200 of them a day at the farmers’ markets.) Also worth noting, Andy White, a Rockland-based sculptor, has built all of @theuprootpieco’s beautiful wood-fired ovens!
