Aster & Rose
When the hustle of Camden, Rockport, and Rockland feels too wild, take a detour to Aster & Rose, your off-the-beaten-path haven. Nestled within the Camden Hills, the restaurant is located inside Lincolnville’s Youngtown Inn, a 200-year-old colonial farmhouse.
Michael and Karrie Nowak are the Innkeepers, but that’s not all: Michael is also a culinary maestro, crafting contemporary French-inspired dishes that spotlight a local cuisine. With each plate, you're tasting the seasons, and every sip comes from a full-service beverage haven.
Michael and Karrie's journey spans from Ohio to Maine. The famed Black Pig restaurant in Cleveland was their canvas before Aster & Rose. Along with their three children, they moved here in 2021.
Expect a menu that's a carefully composed symphony, not an encyclopedia. Caesar salad with a twist, chicken liver toast that's an 'adult PB&J,' and entrées that transport taste buds. Think saffron cavatelli with shrimp and the allure of pork collar. Desserts are sweet symphonies – cheesecake with spiced pineapple and chocolate custard magic (pictured here).
Aster & Rose crafts joy, even when it's not on the menu. The bespoke lemony summer sip, they crafted just for us, tasted like sunshine. Comfort elegantly embraced, whether you're fireside in winter or soaking up summer vibes. A dash of locals, a sprinkle of travelers, Aster & Rose welcomes all.
A compact menu with big heart, local ingredients spun into gold by a chef who knows his craft. The service? A warm hug. Details? They've got you. If you haven’t tried them out yet, put them on the top of your list (and don’t forget to make a reservation). For good reason, their dining room fills up fast!
