Hey Sailor

Hey Sailor describes themselves as an ‘elevated gastro-dive bar’ which nails down the experience just right. As a non-drinker, I appreciated the unique non-alcoholic options: (my favorite was the Siren Song, a blend of Ritual Zero-Proof Tequila, Lemon, Hibiscus, and Bubbles, served in a tiki-style glass). If you’re more of a cocktail person, you won’t be disappointed either. Lots of house-made, handcrafted options to choose from.

The appetizers are a highlight, with options like the Ceviche Tostada featuring a choice of shrimp or cod, (both equally satisfying). The Korean fried wings are a flavorful treat but are equally as messy, so…. maybe avoid them on a first date. 😉

Taco enthusiasts will appreciate the selection, including Veggie, Soy Curl, Carnitas, Chicken Tinga, and Barbacoa. You can mix and match your favorites. The menu also offers Posole Rojo, Tortas, Enchiladas, Burritos, a Sailor Smash Burger, salads, and vegan choices. It’s worth noting that they're open on Mondays when many local spots are closed.

As for the fries, we didn't get to try them, but they're rumored to be excellent. (See their Google reviews to learn more!) The restaurant boasts appealing decor and a commitment to using fresh ingredients, reflected in the quality of their dishes. The presentation is well-executed, and the menu offers a diverse selection not commonly found in the region.

Most recently, we were full at the end of our meal, but took some dessert home. Let’s just say I’d go back solely for the Tres Leches Cake (pictured). 10/10 recommend!
