Perched along the picturesque shores of Spruce Head, Maine, the Causeway Restaurant at the Craignair Inn is another culinary gem here in Midcoast Maine.

Dedicated to offering an authentic taste of Maine, the Causeway prioritizes locally sourced ingredients from farms and fishermen. Whether you choose to dine indoors or soak in the beauty of the Maine coast on their heated outdoor porch, each setting promises a memorable experience.

Greg and Lauren Soutiea, the husband-and-wife team behind The Craignair Inn and The Causeway Restaurant, have garnered well-deserved recognition. From accolades by the regional Chamber of Commerce to features in the Portland Press Herald and U.S. News & World Report, their establishment is hailed among the best inns in Maine. The restaurant has also earned praise as a Vegan-friendly spot and received the Small Business of the Year award.

We were delighted to celebrate NYE here. The festive atmosphere included hats and kazoos at each table, and we were big fans of the well-tended wood-burning fireplace.

The Causeway’s commitment to diverse dining experiences extends to their mocktail menu, featuring Curious Elixirs and Seedlip non-alcoholic spirits. The extensive wine and cocktail list adds to the allure. Our dinner was a feast for the senses – oysters, grilled prime rib, and prosciutto-wrapped halibut. Dessert brought the delightful flavors of their cotton cake and olive oil cake. Hands down, one of the best meals we’ve enjoyed in Midcoast Maine.
