Meet Lisa Utman Randall

Lisa Utman Randall is a writer, nonprofit leader, and consultant who grew up in Camden and who now splits her time between Maine and Rhode Island.

Lisa has worked in the nonprofit, arts and culture sector for over three decades. First as co-founder and Executive Director of Island Arts in Newport, RI, then as the founding Executive Director of the Jamestown Arts Center, followed by the position of founding Executive Director of the United Theatre in Westerly and, most recently, as the Interim Executive Director at the Jamestown Arts Center - a wonderful, full circle moment! Other adventures include a stint as Director of Development for RiverzEdge Arts Project, grant writer for the Aquidneck Island Planning Commission, and consulting gigs with individual artists and organizations. As a journalist she has written for Newport Mercury, Edible Rhody, and the Philanthropists’ Journal – among other publications.

Lisa has been a poet since early adolescence and recently completed a self-published book project with artist Christopher Mir. Her curiosity and love of learning have led her to certifications in Montessori education, medicinal herbalism, plant-based nutrition, Proprioceptive Writing, and Reiki.

Currently, she is working as a consultant with multiple nonprofits as a strategist, creator of development and promotional content, and advisor through her latest endeavor, Pocketknife Consulting.
