Whether you’re a local, a seasonal resident, or just visiting, this is your chance to experience holiday markets, classic parades, tree lightings, and charming small-town traditions that bring people back year after year. Join us as we kick off the holiday season in Camden with warmth, community, and a dash of coastal charm!

CHRISTMAS BY THE SEA PARADE

When: Friday, December 6th at 6pm
Where: Route 1 North, Union Street to Atlantic Ave, Camden

Kick off the festivities with the Christmas By The Sea Parade, a vibrant and joyful procession that lights up Camden's streets. Watch as the community comes together in a spectacle of lights, music, and holiday cheer. It's a perfect start to the weekend's celebrations and a treat for all ages.


COMMUNITY TREE LIGHTING WITH CAROLS

When: Friday, Dec. 6th at 6:30pm
Where: Harbor Park, Atlantic Avenue, Camden

Join in the heartwarming tradition of the Community Tree Lighting. Sing along to carols with Santa Claus and the CHRHS singers. The Camden Lions Club enhances the festive spirit by offering free cookies, hot cocoa, and warm cider. This event is a cozy, community-centered celebration that lights up not just the tree but also the hearts of everyone present.


SANTA’S ARRIVAL BY BOAT

When: Saturday, December 7th at 9am
Where: Camden Public Landing

Experience the unique magic of Santa's arrival by boat! Gather at the waterfront to welcome Santa Claus and Ellen Elf for a memorable stroll downtown. This unique arrival adds a nautical twist to the traditional Santa welcoming and is a must-see for visitors and locals alike.


PHOTOS WITH SANTA CLAUS

When: Saturday, December 7th from 12:30-2pm
Where: Camden Public Library at 55 Main Street

After story hour, seize the opportunity for photos with Santa Claus. This is the perfect time for children to share their wish lists and capture a cherished holiday memory. Santa's visit to the Camden Public Library is a delightful experience for families and kids, offering a personal touch to the festive season.


BONFIRE ON LINCOLNVILLE BEACH

When: Saturday, December 7th at 4pm
Where:
Route 1 in Lincolnville

Conclude your Christmas By the Sea experience with a traditional bonfire on Lincolnville Beach. Gather around the warmth of the fire on the shores of Penobscot Bay, reflecting on the joy and community spirit that Camden's Christmas By the Sea brings. The bonfire offers a moment of tranquility and warmth, a perfect end to a festive and joyous day.


OUR FIRST HOLIDAY MARKET ON THE WHARF

When: Saturday, December 7th from 11a-3p
Where: The Wharf at Lyman-Morse (1 Wayfarer Drive in Camden)

We will have more than a dozen vendors selling breads, cookies, scones, fine chocolates, jewelry, clothing, candles, decor and more. There will also be hot chocolate for the kiddos and mocktails and cocktails at Paper Plane!
