Allison Brzezinski of Birch Bark Events

Allison Brzezinski, owner of Birch Bark Events in Camden, Maine, has a deep-rooted passion for community-building that stretches back over 15 years. As an “event choreographer,” Allison’s focus has always been on creating meaningful experiences that foster connection and spark a ripple effect long after the event ends.

Their journey began with festivals and evolved through various roles in New York City’s vibrant arts scene, where they worked in TV, film, theater, and dance. Allison founded ChEckiT!Dance, a company aimed at breaking female stereotypes, and later launched the ChEck Us OuT Dance Festival, which showcased female choreographers from around the world. Their work in NYC involved event production and creative programming for actors, designers, filmmakers and industry professionals—efforts that Allison sees as integral to their community-building mission.

In 2023, Allison moved to Maine and shortly after established Birch Bark Events, making the shift from working with large institutions to crafting events that reflect Allison's own vision. In Midcoast Maine, Allison has found a niche working with organizations on events that are both impactful and fun. Last spring, they organized Camden Famous Podcast Palooza. And in June they produced Camden Pride Pop-Ups, a month-long series of community events, that raised over $6,000 for Out Maine to support programming for queer youth. Partnering with 37 local businesses, Allison put together events ranging from a drag brunch to a queer film festival.

Allison’s dedication to accessible and approachable events has made Birch Bark Events a go-to for community-focused gatherings. Most recently, Allison worked on the Camden International Film Festival (CIFF) and is now gearing up for a holiday market at Tenderwild Farm. Outside of work, they enjoy exploring the Midcoast food scene, visiting galleries, shopping for vintage clothes and spending time at the harbor with their husband and three dogs.
